Pastoral Support

Sharon Winterbone

Nurture Lead/Family Practitioner/Designated Safeguarding Lead

I’ve been working at Recreation Road for the last 11 years, where I started as a volunteer when my son was a pupil at the school. In 2012 I joined the team as a member of support staff and now have many hats which include pupil nurture and supporting children with additional needs. I offer support to families including the Solihull parenting programme. I love nothing more than having a non-judgmental chat over a cuppa to listen to worries & concerns that anyone may have and offer support, whether this comes through us working together as a team or pointing you in the right direction for the best help/advice that’s out there.

I am a mum of 2 boys, one of whom has a variety of additional needs, including behaviour and mental health needs. When I manage to get some free time just for me, I like to go kickboxing and sit in my garden with friends.

Susanna Manrique

Assistant Head and EYFS Class teacher / Pastoral Lead / Designated Safeguarding Lead

I started working at Recreation Road in 2014 as a member of the Early Years and Senior Leadership Teams. In January 2018 I became Assistant Head responsible for the pastoral side of the school. My responsibilities include supporting the staff, pupils and family wellbeing. I also oversee lunchtime staffing and provision and I am Designated Teacher for Looked After Children and Domestic Abuse Champion.

I am a single mum of a hormonal pre-teen boy!  In my spare time I play the violin in the Norwich Philharmonic Orchestra and like to go running to counteract the cooking I do.
