‘What is Numicon?’ Event for Parents and Carers – Friday 12th March

Dear parents and carers,

Over the last few months, a number of you have wanted to find out more about Numicon.  This is a colourful, hands-on maths resource that we use at school.  It helps children to develop better number sense.  Also, it helps them create good mental pictures of numbers, so they can solve problems more effectively.

To give you a chance to find out more, we are holding an event on Friday 12th March, from 9:00-10:15am in the school staffroom.  This will be hosted by Di Wüest and Su Walters, two of our most experienced teachers.  You will be able to use the Numicon yourself, learn how it is used in school, and ask any questions that you may have.

The event is open to all parents and carers.  Please just turn up on the day.  If you have any questions, please speak to me, or ask at the office.

 Best regards, Michael Bunting
