Welcome to the City Children’s centre.  We are very pleased that we have been offered the opportunity to be included on the Recreation Road Infant School website.

The City Children’s centre is based inside the Vauxhall centre on Johnson Place – just a stone’s throw away from the school. We opened in 2008 and already have a wide range of activities for local families with children under 5.  These include a one-to-one support service for individual families, which can be at home or in the centre, fun activities with your child running throughout the year and some extra ones for the school holidays.  We have some adult education groups, back to work courses and some groups to support you in parenting your child. See our current programme for details. We also have a sensory room, with a small ball pool, bubble tubes, lights and music – any family in the area with children under 5 can book the sensory room and enjoy using it with their children.

We work closely with Recreation Road Infant School. We also have strong links with the health visiting team, childminders, local nursery, Jobcentre plus and the Vauxhall centre.
