Crows & Robins Visit to Strangers Hall
As part of our enquiry into Toys we have arranged for Crows and Robins to visit Strangers Hall on Thursday 12 November 2009. During the visit we will experience a toy handling session led by a member of the museum. We will think about the toys our grandparents and great-grandparents played with. We will investigate similarities and differences between toys in the past and toys played with today. We will explore the Toy Gallery, handle real museum objects and make our own toy to take home. During the afternoon we will explore Strangers Hall and look in all of the different rooms.
We will be travelling by coach leaving school at 9.30am and returning to school by 2.30pm.
We will need to take some adult helpers with us, who have all had their police clearance completed, so if you feel able to help on this outing, please let us know. The child/adult ratio will be 5:1.
If a child becomes ill or there is an emergency while out of school, the school will immediately be contacted. The class teachers will be the group leaders and the teaching assistants will be the deputy leaders. A risk assessment has been made and adequate controls will be in place.
Please send your child with a packed lunch and drinks (no glass bottles, fizzy drinks or chocolate). Children who normally have a hot dinner on the day of the trip will have a packed lunch provided by the school. Fruit will be given for snack.
We are asking for a voluntary contribution of £4.50 towards the cost of the coach and the activities. No child will be excluded because his/her parent is unwilling or unable to contribute. However, if insufficient funds are collected the trip may have to be cancelled.
Thank you
