At Recreation Road Infant School we have an Eco-Council – The Green Team.
Each term a girl and boy member from each class are voted onto the Green Team. As an Eco-Friendly School we have responsibilities that include collecting recycled paper and compost waste, and litter picking around the school.
We have been involved in the Big Schools Bird Watch, have bird feeders and nesting boxes. We also collect stamps for the charity ‘Save the albatross’.
Our next projects will include getting involved with the SWAC team from City Council (The School’s Waste and Action Club), and being part of the RSPB’s Wild Square work. In the future we hope to get involved in the continual development of our wildlife garden and outside classroom.
