School Council Minutes – 24.4.09
We welcomed the new council members and worked together to let them know about their responsibilities.
Mr Bunting fed back to the Council about playground markings. The PTA have set aside £1000 to pay for them and Mr Bunting will be meeting with the PTA on Monday to find out what is going to happen next.
Issues raised by class councils
- Children are enjoying being out on the field. The council agreed that it was so much nicer on the field and that there seemed to be fewer problems, perhaps because there is more space.
- Owls are enjoying playing football. Great! So is Mr Bunting when he’s out on duty!
- People are falling off the monkey bars. We discussed the fact that sometimes people get hurt on the monkey bars. Some of the council thought that we should lower some of the bars. We talked about whether it would still be as much fun if the bars were lowered, and most people thought that it wouldn’t be. We agreed that people need to be careful on the monkey bars and that it’s right that an adult should supervise.
- Could we have more playground buddies? The field is so big that it can sometimes be hard to find a playground buddy when you need one. Mr Bunting will arrange for a member of council to talk to Mrs Carter on our behalf.
- Could we have a special place for Friday swapping? We decided that the classes should discuss this one. We need to come up with a swapping place on the playground and one on the field as well. Where do you think would be best? Please have a class council to discuss this by the next School Council meeting, which will be on:
