What shapes can you see in your garden?

Are all seeds the same shape?

Are they only in the plants?
-
Do you have any paths? Are they curved or straight?

Do you have a patio?
-
Is it paved, and if so what shape are the paving slabs?

Do they fit together without leaving spaces?
-
If they do leave spaces what shape are they?
Symmetry
§ Look for symmetry in leaves, flower heads, butterflies and other insects.
§ Make and laminate several butterfly prints. Join them together to make a garden mobile!
Maths words that you might be able to use: Fit together, same, different, shape, pattern, flat, curved, straight, round, hollow, solid, corner, point, pointed, face, side, edge, end, surface, 3D and 2D shape names, size, bigger, larger, smaller, symmetrical, fold, match, mirror line, reflection
