Health Advice & Support for Children – Just One Norfolk

Susanna Manrique
Assistant Head (Pastoral); Designated Safeguarding Lead; Year 1 Class Teacher
I started working at Recreation Road in 2014 as a member of the Early Years and Senior Leadership Teams. In January 2018 I became Assistant Head responsible for the pastoral side of the school. My responsibilities include supporting and promoting pupil, family and staff wellbeing. I also oversee lunchtime staffing and provision and I am Designated Teacher for Looked After Children, Mental Health Champion and Domestic Abuse Champion.
A large part of my role is to support families (alongside Sharon) when things go a bit wonky – it happens to all of us! We can signpost you to organisations who specialise in the support you need, help you to complete referrals and help you to find solutions that make sense for you. We are also very happy to have a chat and a cup of tea if you need a friendly ear and someone to talk things through with, no matter how big and scary they are.
I have a hormonal teenage son who came to Rec Road and 2 teenage step-daughters. In my spare time I play the violin in the Norwich Philharmonic Orchestra, go running to counteract all the cooking I do and I love reading detective fiction!
