Designing our ‘fake’ website @RRIS

Posted by on 28/01/2022

This week the classes were devastated when they found out that the website we had researched last week all about the amazing fish that was found to be living in a sandpit, was not true!! In fact I had made the whole thing up! Everyone wondered why I would do that. We then all had a long discussion about things we might read on the internet and how we could decide if they were true or not. We agreed that the best thing to do if you come across something you are unsure about was to ask a responsible adult to check the facts for you. They could do this by seeing if they could find the same information in 2 other places, if they couldn’t then maybe it wasn’t true, even if it seemed very true.

Our lesson this week was to design a new ‘fake’ website for the children in Year 1 to see and learn the same lesson as we did. Each of the 4 classes had a different idea about their website, why not come back next week to see what they came up with!
